Hello Friends, bringing you another review on one of my beauty crushes, YSL.

Overall Performance
YSL described them as: “a lip balm that offers full, radiant colour! The breakthrough formula of Volupté Liquid Balm is packed with soothing shea butter, antioxidant-rich pomegranate extract, coconut water and jojoba oil to soften lines, enhance lip texture and lock in moisture while YSL’s Liquid Light technology delivers high shine color.”

I really love the VOLUPTÉ TINT-IN-OIL, which sadly seem to be going to be discontinued. So I’m really happy that YSL has introduced these Liquid Balms.
The shades are lovely and can be built up. However, I’m not too keen on the applicator. I much prefer the applicator for the VOLUPTÉ TINT-IN-OIl (see photo below).
The applicator is a doe-foot applicator with a "hole" in the middle. This provides for the optimal pick of colour - not too much, not too little.

I have uneven lips, so the applicator is a bit too rounded for me. It’s a pretty easy thing to fix though. I just use a lip brush if I want a more precise application. In most cases, I just smush the liquid balm on to my lips with my fingers. Looks pretty good to me.
The packaging is a bit confusing. Whilst being super cute with the look-through lip window, the packaging for all of them are the same. It was easier to pick out colours I wanted with the VOLUPTÉ TINT-IN-OIL (see photo below). Luckily, out of the four, I was lucky that YSL engraved my two favourites for me. So that makes it much easier.
They smell like mangoes. So yummy. I also like the fact that they have coconut water in them and are packed with antioxidants (see the essential ingredients list below). I love makeup with skincare benefits.
The Tint-in-Oil packaging has a different coloured "collar".
I particularly like the applicator for the Tint-in-Oil. The "curve" is perfect in my opinion. It really works for me.

Should you try them?
All in all, I do recommend them. I like YSL, so I might be a bit bias. But then again, #YSLFOREVER right? Tip: if you are a member of Sephora Australia’s loyalty program and have enough points, you can get them for a 10% discount.
Swatches and Looks
I was able to swatch 10 of them when I went down to support YSL Beauty’s takeover at the Sephora on Pitt Street, Sydney. Yes I am very lucky and I don’t take it for granted. So the swatches you see here have been saved on my Instagram (@teacupofmakeup).

From Left to Right (从左到右): No. 2 (nude pink/淡粉色); No. 5 (orange/橙色); No. 8 (berry and my fave/浆果色和我最喜欢的); and No. 9 (hot pink/亮粉色).
On the eyes, I have the Dior Backstage eyeshadow palette in warm (more on that later).
