Perfect Your Base with Armani Neo Nude

Hello Friends! How have you been? I've really been enjoying Instagram's IGTV and have uploaded a few videos. I am also back on Youtube and learning about all of the new features. I'm very grateful to all of you for your support. If you follow me on my Instagram @teacupofmakeup, you would have seen demos of the Armani Neo Nude products that I will be talking about in this post.

I attended an event where I got to try out these products and watch a demonstration by Armani Beauty's Australian Director of Artistry, Ross Andrewartha. He applied these products on the model before applying foundation. I thought that was quite a neat idea, as the contour and highlight looked very natural instead of that "inyoureyeicanseeitfromouterspace" type contour and highlighter. It definitely looked more elegant to me as I am not a huge fan of the "in your eye" highlighter look.

I was gifted the three products from the Neo Nude collection, you see in the photo above:

  • A-Blush No. 51;

  • A-highlight No. 10; and

  • A-contour No. 70

There are two shades for the highlighter; two shades for the contour; and five shades in the blush. In Australia, they retail for RRPA$68 each.

There is also a face powder that I have not yet tried but swatched at the event - it was very smooth and nice.

You can purchase these products and find your local stockist in Australia at: https://www.giorgioarmanibeauty.com.au

The applicator and texture

I really like the rounded half crescent applicator. For me, that was the biggest selling point (besides the colour choice). It is rounded on one side and at the tip. It is flat on the other. This makes is to easy to apply the product in a precise manner and fits into the natural contours of your face as you angle the applicator. You can see the applicator from three angles in the photos below.

The texture is very interesting. To me it felt like a watery lip stain. Very cool. When applied on the skin, it felt like a felt tip marker pen. Again, very cool.

I particularly found the contour shade to be most interesting. To the eye, it looked like a taupe-like shade. Applied on the skin, it looked very natural. I would describe as being a "cool tone" contour shade completely different to anything I have tried thus far.

There is some work time, so you can easily blend it out. I tried "building" up the colour and it was buildable, thought I would recommend using it with a light hand so that it looks more natural. The "natural" look is the ethos behind the Neo Nude collection.

You can see in the photos (above) a close up of the applicator. The fabric covering the applicator has a bit of texture to it. The "paddle" is firm. I really like the applicator. You can do a very precise application with this applicator.

Would I recommend you try these? ABSOLUTELY. I love them. You can go in-store and ask any beauty adviser for Armani to apply some on your face first before deciding on them as they are luxury products.

Swatches and on the Face

In the photo above, I tried to capture the "watery/stain" like texture of these products. After I wiped them off, the blush had left a very pretty stain.

This is how they look applied on the skin in daylight.

You get a very natural look with these. I applied them under my foundation (I used Armani Beauty's cushion foundation).

Another photo of how it looks, under daylight but in doors.

This is how they look under studio lighting. As you can see, they do give you a very natural look, whilst providing the "sculpted" look you want to achieve.
