Interview with Marc Reagan Bobbi Brown's Global Director of Artistry

Hi Friends!! Yes, it is a new blog post but I think a very special one.

I'm finally back on Youtube! It's been three long years. I was given the once-in-a-life time opportunity to interview Marc Reagan, Global Director of Artistry for Bobbi Brown on July 10th, 2018 at ELC headquarters. Marc was in Australia to train BB artists after a whirlwind tour of Asia Pacific (also for training and promotion).

Thank you so much Marc Reagan for your time and candidness. Also a HUGE thank you to Bobbi Brown Australia for this amazing opportunity. It was a great way for me to start my Youtube Channel again.

I hope you enjoy the video. It me ages to edit as I've gone rusty on my Youtube editing skills! There is also a GIVEAWAY OPEN WORLDWIDE. The giveaway ends on 31 July 2018. The rules are in the description box in the video.

Here is a direct link (or you can click the box above):

AND this video and this blog post are not sponsored. I was gifted lots of BB goodies though :)

To say the least, the experience was "surreal". I feel so very comfortable with Australia's brand manager for Bobbi Brown as I have known her for a few years now. Danielle, you are one amazing woman (hence your very amazing children).

With Marc, I felt like I was catching up with my brother (who happens to now live in NYC, USA). Marc's gentile manner and sense of humour put me at ease so quickly. I was a bit stressed out that morning as I was told that I only had ONE hour to interview Marc. I arrived at 7.30amish on the day at ELC HQ and started to set up the room for the interview at 8.30 am.

Having worked as a lawyer, I went a bit OTT and had sent the questions and time schedule for each portion to Bobbi Brown and Marc Reagan for their consideration.

I brought three tripods, two cameras and two mics. Uhhh and yet I couldn't get it all correct. For filming, I used my trusty old Canon EOS Rebel T3i (an antique by today's standards). It did not do a continuous auto focus and it timed out! I have now upgraded to the Canon EOS 80D (no 4K, which is fine by me as my computer would probably go kaput with such large files).

I was very lucky that Marc agreed to do a voice record for the last portion of the answer to the most important question - Bobbi Brown supporting diversity.

Some parts were also out of focus and I was so lucky that I had the products to film at home and insert into the video with the video of Marc and myself as a pop-up.

My many tripods. Very OTT and complicated the whole process for me. NEVER doing that again!

Yup, it is true. The above photo says it all.

And of course, I had to get a "boomerang" with Marc.

(for promotional purposes and simply because I am a bit silly)

Limited edition Highlight and Glow Shimmer Brick Palette.

The perfect palette to bring with you anywhere or just to add to your collection. You know how good BB's shimmer bricks are so this is the bomb. I'm giving away one of these palettes on my youtube channel (click here for your chance to win this amazing palette).

From left to right: Rose; Copper Diamond and Apricot.

You can use it on the eyes as well. The pigmentation is insanely good.

Cover of the limited edition Highlight and Glow Shimmer Brick Palette. Classic and elegant.

TWO NEW Nude on Nude palettes. This one is called "Nude on Nude Eye Palette - Bronzed Nudes Edition", also a limited edition palette.

It is the perfect all in one neutral toned palette. Colour payoff is amazing and you get a mix of mattes, shimmers, satins and "foil" colours.

This one is called "Nude on Nude Eye Palette - Rosy Nudes Edition", also a limited edition palette.

I don't believe that I have ever come across a BB palette that I did not like (but then again I am bias as I am very fond of this brand).

If you love rose gold tones, get this palette. That shade "dusk" is amazing all over the eye on its own and blended out with the mattes. It has a foil-like finish.

BRAND NEW and made specially to for clients that have been asking for this. The Primer plus Mattifier.

This is skincare with benefits. The texture is similar to a gel-based moisturiser. It does not leave you with a "tight skin" feeling, but more of a silky feeling. It did blur out my pores really well. Wear time on me was about 3-4 hours (sweating through the Sephora Showcase and having to walk for 30 mins while carrying a heavy bag to a restaurant - sweating like a pig). It is very "cooling" on the skin and really melts down on your face to give it a natural looking matte finish. It does not feel like it has silicone it it.

This is suitable for oilier complexions - watch the Youtube Video above for Marc Reagan's explanation of it.

Also skincare with benefits. This is a primer; moisturiser and setting spray. It SMELLS heavenly - touch of lavender and bergamot. I like the atomiser for this one. It has a very fine mist. As I have combination oily skin, I like to use this after I apply my regular skincare and before applying the mattifiying primer.

This cute little baby is the limited edition "Pink Glow" highlighting powder. As you can see, it has a gradient of shades. The finish is so smooth and you can hardly detect any micro-glitters. I did check using a magnifying glass - yah OTT.

The "Sunset Gold" Highlighting powder. You can go from a natural finish to a full on BANG on your face highlighter look.

The "Afternoon Glow" Highlighting powder.

The "Moon Glow" Highlighting powder. Very pretty and you can see a "gradient" look to it that you can either swirl your brush in or use a smaller brush to pick up the shade you want.

All of the highlighting powders work very well on the eyes too.

A compare of the full-sized highlighting powder to the mini limited edition on.

I've done some swatches and demos of these on my youtube video (click here to watch it).

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post and my new youtube video. It has taken me 3 years to pluck up the courage to restart my youtube channel again - so many complicated reasons that I'l talk about in another post.

Thank you all for your support. I'll be trying to do more youtube videos and speak in both English and Mandarin in them.
