A Date with Sisley Paris - 2018 makeup showcase

Hello friends! Yesterday, I had the pleasure to spend some time with Sisley Paris' Australian Team to review their new launches in Australia and to try some of the existing products. Perhaps you may not know this, but I am a francophile and proud of it! I simply love the French's style. Always elegant, chic and understated. I always enjoy spending time with the Sisley Paris Australian Team headed up by Irene Robinson (General Manager at Sisley Cosmetics); Tonia Caswell and Joey Chang. It was a fairly intimate setting and I felt like I was in Sisley Paris Heaven! You can watch highlights of this preview on my Instagram profile page under the Highlight named "SisleyParis" (click here to go to @teacupofmakeup).

因为这只是新产品的预览,我只会用英文。 一旦我尝试过产品,我会用英文和中文我写的评论。

The new products launched are:

  1. Phyto-Blanc Cushion Foundation (Brightening - anti-pollution - SPF 30 / PA +++)

  2. Instant Correct Color Correcting Primers (Just Rosy and Just Lavender)

  3. Phyto-khol Star Waterproof eyeliners (5 sparkling shades infused with micro glitters; and 3 mystic shades - shimmery with subtle reflections)

  4. Phyto-Lip Twist Matt (4 new shades)

Obviously, I loved all of the new products that I tested yesterday. Sisley Paris makes the high quality colour cosmetic products which often have skincare benefits. These are luxury, high performing products, and hence the price justifies the results.

The NEW Phyto-Blanc Cushion Foundation (Brightening - anti-pollution - SPF 30 / PA +++)

The Phyto-Blanc Cushion Foundation (Brightening - anti-pollution - SPF 30 / PA +++) is not a full coverage foundation. Instead, you get a second skin effect from it. It brightens; colour corrects; has a pore-minimising effect. Basically, it "photoshops" your skin making it look more radiant and and smoother. It retails for RRPAUD150 and you can purchase a refill for RRPAUD110. This product launches in Australia on 22nd April 2018. The press release says that it was specially formulated for Asian skin. It has a very light texture.

It is meant to last all day and resist humidity and sweat. The fact that it has SPF 30 / PA +++ is also a great thing. Unlike more conventional cushion foundations, the foundation is dispensed by pressing down on the white "lid" you see above (a pump). It comes in 3 shades:

White Opal for very fair yellowish complexions;

White Pearl for very fair pinkish complexions; and

Light Rose for fair pinkish complexions

The foundation contains a number of skincare ingredients in addition to micronised titanium dioxide (which provides the SPF30/PA+++ protection). It includes buckwheat seed which protects the skin from pollutants and fine particles in the atmosphere; three ingredients to boost radiance and lighten the skin (vitamin C, Hexyl Resorcinol; and modified rhubarb extract). It is very moisturising due to the inclusion of Photosqualane; Pro-Vitamin B5; and a Wheat Sugar Derivative.

One of the members of the Sisley Paris team told me that she liked to wear it on top of the more fuller coverage foundations for the anti-pollution and sun protection properties

When I tested it on my hand, it felt very light and my skin looked photoshopped. It will be interesting to test this foundation out and see how my skin improves over time.

These are the two Instant Correct Color Correcting Primers (Just Rosy and Just Lavender). Sisley Paris also has the Instant Eclat instant glow primer. Ohhh, I can't even begin to say how very pretty they look on the skin!! The colour correcting ones have two purposes: (1) to create a perfect base with fixing polymers that holds on to your foundation; and (2) a skin perfecting fluid that rebalances your natural skin tone and even out your complexion day after day. The "Just Rosy" one corrects grey looking skin. The "Just Lavender" one neutralises yellow tones. They retails for RRPAUD105 and will be available in Australia from 18th March 2018.

They also include a number of skincare ingredients like Alkekengi extract; Lemon extract; Iris extract in addition to a cocktail of skincare active ingredients. I really loved the subtle glow these primers gave my skin when I tested it on my hands and arms. I just could not stop looking at them!

They both have a very light liquidly texture to them. When I tried them on, it felt like I had nothing on my skin.

The Instant Eclat primer is available now and retails for RRPAUD105. It gives your skin the prettiest golden toned glow. You can apply it under your foundation for a luminous look or as a highlighter on top of your foundation for that strobing effect. Worn alone, it gives your skin a glowy warm toned healthy looking glow.

I don't think the photo above captures how pretty it is. You have to watch my instastories to see it! Click here to go to my highlights of the preview (@teacupofmakeup)

There are four new shades of the Phyto-Lip Twist Matt:

Ballet (a mild pink beige);

Drama (bold purple shade);

Ruby (a striking raspberry); and

Burgandy (a brick red).

I like the Phyto-Lip Twist Matt formula. It comes in an easy to apply pencil formal and whilst it gives a matte finish, it is very moisturising on the lips. You don't get that cracked lip look that you sometimes get from matte lipsticks.

These will be available in Australia from 18th March 2018 and retail for RRPAUD55 each.

I had lots of fun playing with the lip cards! You can see it on my Instastory highlights (click here @teacupofmakeup)

Swatches from left to right: Drama; Ruby; Burgundy and Ballet. Expect a smooth application and full pigmentation. I was gifted two and will review them separately either here or on my Instagram (@teacupofmakeup).

OHHH, I love eyeliner pencils! When I was in Japan in Jan 2018, I saw alot of eyeliner pencils in different colours and different textures that could be used alone or smudged out as an eyeshadow. The NEW Phyto-Khol Star Waterproof Pencils are just like that but more pigmented.

There are 5 sparkling shades infused with micro glitters; and 3 mystic shades - shimmery with subtle reflections. They retail for RRPAUD62 each and will be available on 18th March 2018.

They are really pretty which you can see from the swatches below. The swatches survived me washing my hands a few times and taking a shower. I had to remove them with makeup remover.

Swatches left to right then top to bottom: Sparkling Black; Sparkling Blue; Sparkling Bronze; Mystic Green; Mystic Purple; Sparkling Brown; Mystic Blue and Sparkling Grey. I was gifted two and review them separately either here or on my Instagram (@teacupofmakeup).

We were also given a skincare pampering session and a makeup touch-up if we wanted. I could not stop taking photos in Sisley Heaven so the rest of this blog will be more "makeup porn" (haha).

Gahhh... so pretty!

I really like their eyebrow pencils, they include a highlighting powder and an eyebrow brush!

Their gorgeous skincare! Drool #skincare addict!

I was like a kid in a candy store. I could not stop playing with all of the products! #makeupaddict

I was given a really cool beauty tip by Joey from the Sisley Paris team. You can use their translucent setting powder to set your eyeshadows too!

I so want to try this foundation - Phyto Teint Eclat. It has a watery thin consistency; feels like second skin and gives you a matte finish.

The beautiful cushion foundation compacts.

Tonia from the Sisley Paris team decided on a whim to display two of the iconic Black Rose skincare products on one of the beautiful floral arrangements around the room. I just had to take these photos!

I have only tried the Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream (which I adore) and so want to try the mask and the face oil. Uhmm decisions; decisions!

Everything was so pretty, so French chic!

The gorgeous skincare at the skin pamper station. I love the eye and lip cream that comes with the roller you see in the photo above.

AND... finally, I had to show you these incredibly marshmallow balls we were treated to! Aren't they pretty? They had a gold foil on them and were filled with chocolate or caramel.
